ODPS Brake Pad Process Flow
At ODPS company, the production of brake pads strictly follows industry standards and high-quality requirements, and undergoes a series of refined process flows to ensure product performance and safety. The following is the detailed process flow of ODPS brake pads:
Raw material procurement and testing
ODPS company has an extremely strict selection of raw materials, all of which come from high-quality suppliers and undergo strict quality testing. Before entering the production workshop, key raw materials such as friction materials and steel backs need to undergo multiple tests such as composition analysis and strength testing to ensure that they meet the high standard requirements of ODPS company.
Pretreatment of steel back
As an important component of brake pads, the pre-treatment process of steel backing is crucial. Firstly, place the steel back into a dedicated rubber basket, which is then placed into a degreasing basket and soaked for 5-10 minutes to remove oil stains and impurities from the surface of the steel back. After soaking, take out the steel back and air dry it, then perform drying treatment to ensure that the surface of the steel back is dry and clean. Next, use an automatic shot blasting machine to perform shot blasting treatment on the steel back, remove surface rust and oxide layer, make the steel back surface rougher, and enhance adhesion with friction materials. After shot blasting, the steel back is classified according to specifications and placed in a rubber basket, waiting for the next process.
Preparation of Friction Materials
Friction material is the core part of brake pads, and its quality directly affects braking performance. At ODPS company, the preparation of friction materials involves precise batching and stirring processes. According to product specifications and performance requirements, various raw materials are proportioned strictly and then thoroughly mixed in a mixer to ensure even mixing of the materials. After the mixing is completed, place the friction material in the material basket, label it, and place it in the designated material stacking area, waiting for the subsequent process.
Adhesive bonding and molding
The bonding between steel backing and friction material is a crucial step in the production of brake pads. Firstly, use a brush to evenly apply the resin solution on the contact surface between the steel back and the friction material, as the resin solution can enhance the adhesion between the two. Then, place the steel back and friction material coated with resin solution in a press and press them together under high temperature and pressure. The temperature of the press is controlled between 150 ℃ -180 ℃, and the pressure and time are precisely set according to the product specifications to ensure a tight bond between the steel back and the friction material, forming a solid whole. For some high- performance brake pads, the compression temperature can reach 180 ℃ -200 ℃, and even the original factory matching products can reach 220 ℃ to enhance the curing effect.
Mid-section processing
The pressed brake pad blank needs to be processed in the middle section to meet different usage requirements. According to customer requirements and product design, perform machining processes such as slotting, chamfering, and drilling on brake pads. For example, slotting can increase the heat dissipation performance of brake pads, chamfering can reduce the noise during braking, and drilling can improve the ventilation of brake pads. In addition, for some drum brake pads, riveting process may also be required to ensure the structural stability of the brake pads.
Surface treatment
In order to improve the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of brake pads, ODPS company has carried out rust prevention and aesthetic treatment on the non-contact surface of brake pads. Mainly using two processes: powder coating and spray painting. The powder spraying process adopts automated equipment, using black powder as much as possible, spraying evenly, forming a strong protective layer, and having good wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The painting process is completed manually, and different colors and paint types are selected according to the customer’s needs to make the appearance of the brake pads more beautiful.
Ablation process
The ablation process is an important characteristic process in the production of brake pads by ODPS company. Through the ablation process, the high-temperature resistance of friction materials can be strengthened, resulting in the formation of etched bumps on the friction surface and improving the braking performance and service life of brake pads. The friction surface of the ablated brake pad has better wear resistance and stability, and can maintain good braking effect in high temperature environments. At present, ODPS company is planning to purchase advanced ablation equipment to further improve product quality.
Subsequent processing and packaging
After the ablation process, the brake pads still need a series of subsequent treatments. Firstly, the brake pads are shot blasted to remove surface impurities and residues, making the surface of the brake pads smoother and cleaner. Then, perform degreasing treatment on the brake pads to remove surface oil stains and ensure the cleanliness of the brake pads. Next, place the brake pads in a microwave oven for baking to further solidify the friction material and improve the strength and stability of the brake pads. After baking, cool the brake pads to reach room temperature. Finally, grind the brake pads to ensure a smooth friction surface and improve their braking performance. In the packaging process.
Packaging
ODPS company strictly operates according to the standards. Firstly, the brake pads are packaged internally. Each set of brake pads contains 4 pieces and is packaged with vacuum forming to ensure that the brake pads are not damaged during transportation. Then, pack 4 sets of brake pads into an outer packaging box, with 10 sets per box. The outer packaging box is printed with product identification, specifications, production date, and other information for customers to easily identify and use. At the same time, during the packaging process, the brake pads will also be vacuum cleaned to ensure the cleanliness inside the packaging. Through the strict process described above, the brake pads produced by ODPS not only have excellent braking performance, good wear resistance, and high temperature resistance, but also have a beautiful appearance and reliable rust prevention performance, which can meet the needs of different customers and provide strong guarantees for the safe driving of cars.
